With the release of the Series 3, Apple released a set of new Nylon/Velcro Sport Loops which are the most comfortable Apple Watch bands released to date. Unfortunately, these new Sport Loops are only bundled in with the Cellular Apple watch so that means if you get a normal Series 3, Series 2, or Series 1 you will have to shell out a little over $50 for one band which is insane.

I’d been waiting for a fake/copy to pop up on Amazon and it finally did! It’s called the Qifit New Nylon Sport Loop with Hook and Loop Fastener and it comes in all of Apple’s original colors which I couldn’t believe so I purchased a pink and a black one to see how close they come to Apple’s version. Basically, it’s the exact same thing but for $16. The colors are exactly the same but more importantly, the way the velcro is laid out and how the band feels is also exactly the same! This is the first band I’ve bought on Amazon that actually looks like an Apple product without branding.

If you have been wanting a sport loop then you can confidently buy these knowing you are getting the same thing as Apple but without the hefty price tag. It’s ideal for working out and sleeping but I bought mine mainly for sleeping since it makes the watch so much more comfortable than any other band. You can get one here on Amazon. Just as a tip, the black one is like the one I am wearing in the picture and isn’t completely black (just how Apple’s is), I believe dark olive is more of a darker gray/black.

Starting Tonight Apple Will Start Accepting U.S. iPhone 5 Personal Pickup Reservations?

According to AppleInsider, Apple is will begin accepting iPhone 5 Personal Pickup Reservations tonight at 10 p.m. for U.S. customers.

Apple’s retail employees have begun informing customers that Personal Pickups for iPhone 5 orders will begin this evening at 10 p.m., AppleInsider has been told. Customers will be able to purchase their iPhone 5 online, and stores with inventory will hold the purchase for pickup the next day.

Shipments for the program are being received by stores today and apparently, you’ll be able to access the reservation program via the iPhone 5 page on Apple’s website. An Apple Store employee we spoke to mentioned, that you would soon be able to reserve your iPhone 5 online but did not mention an exact date. It seems kind of odd that Apple would start this program when there are still a good amount of people who have not received their pre-ordered iPhone yet.

How To: Use iPhone 5 on AT&T GoPhone/Prepaid with 4G Data Speeds (PayAsYouGo)

Back when the iPhone 4 came out I started paying full price for phones and broke off my contract with AT&T. I know paying $650+ for a phone is a lot of money but so is paying $60+ monthly to get the same phone for $199, not to mention the fact that iPhones change every year and you have to pay more for breaking the 2-year contract. I used to have the unlimited data plan from AT&T but now I am close to Wi-Fi spots at all times and there are very few cases in which I might need internet right away.

With a prepaid plan you have more freedom to choose how much you want to use and spend every month. At the moment I pay $25 for 250 monthly minutes and unlimited texting which is good since I don’t make too many phone calls and if I need a quick favor I can just text them. I haven’t used data on an iPhone for a while until today. I got my iPhone 5 yesterday morning and got home quickly to cut my micro SIM into Nano SIM to get it up and fully working. Shortly after I realized that I bought a phone with 4G capability so why not try it out?

Getting 4G data on AT&T’s GoPhone service is very easy to do and won’t take much of your time. Follow the directions below.

1.Buy an iPhone 5

2.Get a GoPhone SIM card from AT&T or buy a cheap GoPhone at an Electronics retailer like Best Buy that includes the SIM card.

3.Cut the SIM card down to a Nano SIM (Instructions Here)

4.Settings>General>Network>Turn Off Cellular Data

5.From your iPhone 5 go to http://www.unlockit.co.nz/ and as “Carrier” choose “AT&T (PAYG)” then create the APN and Install Profile.

6.Go to paygonline.com/ and purchase whatever minutes or plan you want except for the “Unlimited $50 Monthly Plan” since it won’t work, you will want to purchase the data separately for this to work. You can get up to 1GB of data for $25 which is pretty good. I recommend paying $5 for 50MB for now until you get this to work and then purchase more.

7.Restart iPhone 5

8.Settings>General>Network>Turn On Cellular Data

9.You should see 4G/LTE next to AT&T but just incase, restart it one more time.

10.You’re done, I don’t recommend  refilling your data by calling AT&T.

When you complete those ten steps you should be done and data should be working. If you have any questions feel free to contact us here.

(Update 9/24/12) You can use this method to use the device as a prepaid phone without buying data.

(Update 5/30/12) AT&T has made 4G/LTE GoPhone compatible with iPhones. Normal data plans that include smartphones should work now.

Unboxing: White iPhone 5 16GB (Video)

Today we waited in line for nearly 5 hours to get our hands on the iPhone 5 and it was truly worth the wait. The iPhone 5 doesn’t change many things from the iPhone 4S in fact, the major difference is that the iPhone 5 has a 4-inch retina display which for me was all I wanted. The display helps get things done quicker and provides a better experience over all. We will talk about all of its features in the review but for now, check out our video unboxing below.

iPhone 5 Unboxing Photos Start To Surface

BGR has posted the first unboxing photos of the iPhone 5. There are some slight packaging changes but the most noticeable is that the headphones come in the same retail package that they are sold in at Apple Stores.

Apple has changed its packaging slightly with the iPhone 5, and as it announced last week, the company’s new EarPod headphones are bundled with the iPhone including a plastic travel case. Also included is a new power adapter that supplies more power to the phone when charging, and of course the Lightning to USB cable.

Below are some photos of the unboxing.

Cut Micro SIM to Nano-SIM Card for iPhone 5 [Cutting Guide Download]

If you are upgrading your phone for an iPhone 5 this Friday, be prepared to get a new Nano-SIM card that will fit the iPhone 5 or you can take the chance of cutting your old SIM to the appropriate size. The cutting guide below will help you get your standard-SIM or micro-SIM down to the size of a nano-SIM. The process is pretty straight forward and painless but be careful because you can ruin the SIM card if you mess up.

The guide below was created by Christian von der Ropp and can be downloaded here. After you cut down your SIM you won’t be able to use it on phones with larger SIM card slots. If you are a person who switches phones constantly,  you can get a SIM adapter for cheap on Amazon.
