Last year was the first time that I left my iPhone for more than a month and switch to Android. I used the Galaxy S7 for around 5 Months until the iPhone 7 came out. I've always liked Android but until a couple years ago it just wasn't as good as iOS and when I say good I mean the apps available on the OS were not as good as those on iOS.

Switching from iPhone 7 to Galaxy S8

I believe 2017 is the first year that it doesn't really matter what phone you choose because all of them are going to be pretty much the same. The iPhone 8 will look and function very similarly to the Galaxy S8 and both devices have lots of features which end up accomplishing the same thing. I sold my iPhone 7 a couple of weeks ago in preparation for the Galaxy S8 because it is the best smartphone ever made. The combination of materials, features, software, and design of the phone make it the most comfortable smartphone I have held and it sports the most beautiful screen I have seen. The iPhone 8 will most like match all this but we are still months away from an announcement this means it's currently Samsung's turn to shine.

I ended up purchasing the Silver since I have had a black phone for the past couple of years and Samsung has given all the S8 colors black fronts which is perfect. If you have yet to see one in person, I highly reccomend going to a store and checking it out. This is what phones will look like for the next couple of years until the foldable displays become more affordable. I’ll be making some videos on the S8 this coming weekend so stay tuned for those!

New 3DS XL Coming to North America On February 13

The New Nintendo 3DS XL that came out in Japan a few months ago has finally gotten a release date for North America. The handheld will be available for purchase February 13 for $199.99 and will come in Black and Red. The New 3DS XL features NFC (for Amiibos), faster processing, an analog C-Stick, and eye-tracking which allows you to view the 3DS from different angles without ruining the 3D experience. It will also have a micro SD card slot (comes with a 4GB card) instead of the full-size SD card slot on the current 3DS XL.

This time around Nintendo is releasing the 3DS XL without an AC adapter so you’ll most likely end up spending closer to $300 if you’re going to get a game with it! Sadly, there is still no word on whether Nintendo will be releasing the smaller/cheaper model with the changeable face plates in here in North America but it shouldn’t be too long before Nintendo announces it.

Nintendo 3DS Unboxing and Hands On (Video)

The last Nintendo DS I had was the DSi Lite which I loved using but sold it to get the 3DS on release date. When I went to purchase the 3DS I saw the glossy and overall clunky design and was torn so I decided to wait until Nintendo released something better and it is finally here. Today we got our hands on the new Nintendo 3DS XL and it is the best of both worlds. The device combines the design aspects of both the DSi XL and 3DS and I am enjoying it so far even though I sold the collection of games I had for my DSi Lite. Check out our unboxing video below after the break:

Nintendo Announces the 3DS XL, hits North America on August 19th (Video)

Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo of America, announced  the 3DS XL during a Nintendo Direct presentation which will hit North America on August 19th which is the same day that New Super Mario Bros. 2 gets released for 3DS. The Nintendo 3DS XL will be priced at $199.99 and will include a 4GB memory card.

In North America, the new system will come in two color variations, blue and red while in Europe the Nintendo 3DS XL will begin shipping on July 28 in blue, red, and silver without a charging cradle like that of the 3DS. The 3DS XL will have and extended battery life that Nintendo said will offer 3.6 to 6.5 hours of play time with 3DS titles and and six to ten when playing regular DS titles. There is also a new 4.88 inch stereoscopic 3D display screen compared to the current 3DS which has a 3.53 inch screen. The bottom touchscreen display will also be increased from 3.02 inches to 4.18 inches. Check out Nintendo Direct’s conference to see some info on upcoming game titles as well as more information on the 3DS XL.
