Pencil by FiftyThree Might Be The Most Promising Bluetooth Stylus to Date

Earlier this week, FiftyThree unveiled a dedicated stylus companion for its Paper app. The stylus uses bluetooth to connect to an iPad and will sport a lithium-polymer battery said to last about a month under normal usage. Pencil will also activate palm rejection so you can rest your hand on the screen without worrying about accidentally ruining your sketch.  Other notable features include the ability to flip Pencil to erase and use your finger to blend colors.

We could not be more excited to announce Pencil, a new hardware accessory for Paper, and the latest in our essential suite of mobile tools for creativity. Pencil is the most natural and expressive tool for getting ideas on Paper—a beautiful blend of advanced technology and artisanal craft. Pencil’s special expressive features: Erase, Blend, and adaptive Palm Rejection, open up a whole new world of creative possibilities in Paper.

Pencil is available now in either Walnut ($59.95) or Graphite ($49.95) and is set to ship in the coming weeks. Check out the video below to see pencil in action…
