How To: Get iOS 6 Beta 1 on your device today [Update: Direct Download Links]

Today Apple announced that iOS 6 will be coming in the fall for everyone but developers can start using iOS 6 starting today with the first beta. If you are not a developer there is still a way to get it but keep in mind that beta software always has bugs and issues. To get iOS 6 onto your iDevice you’ll need to:

1)Download iTunes 10.6.3
2)Register Your UDID (some developers/websites can do this for you)
2)Download iOS 6 firmware for iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch from this link –> iOS 6 Download (or down below for direct links).
3)Open iTunes and connect your iDevice via USB cable
4)Select your device from the left navigation pane on iTunes
5)Hold down the Shift (Windows) or Alt/Option (Mac) key and hit the restore button on iTunes
6)Browse and select the downloaded iOS 6 IPSW file. Let the restore process complete.

    I got ios6 on the ipad but it wont activate. It shows in iTunes but can restore or anything. I’m missing a step here. Help please.

    The Instructions above say to hit ALT/Command. Once your plugged in to iTunes and you select your iPhone on the left side you want to Hold down the “Option and Command” keys and then you will be prompted to restore your iPhone to IOS 6. After about 10 Minutes you will be given the option to restore your phones settings ie: Contacts, Settings, Photos etc back on to your device.
